Dubai Police is providing the UAE`s official communications service, WAM, a statement confirming that the upcoming collection will consist of 150 NFTs that symbolize the police force`s values of security, communication and innovation.
The announcement will be made in March 2022. After the huge success of the first version of NFT released in the force, 22.91 million people worldwide registered their interest in owning data collections.
Brigadier General Khalid Nasser Al Razooqi, Director General of Artificial Intelligence at Dubai Police, said in the statement that the force received direct messages from more than 7,000 participants through its various social networking platforms. He added:
Contact all participants to determine the address of the data wallet. Those who meet the requirements will be selected in the lottery. Among them, 150 people will win the prize, and the Dubai Police will get the digital currency for free.
The announcement drew local and world attention when Al Razooqi made further comments. The largest online interactions came from other regions in the US, Saudi Arabia, India, Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates.
Al Razooqi also revealed that within 24 hours on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, the social network post announcing the news on the platforms received 589,173 visits and was shared and shared many times.
As the first police department in the world to establish a digital currency, Dubai Police feels that this measure is in line with the UAE government`s growing interest in digital currencies and will help attract people interested in this modern data trend.
