Congressman Sherman Believes SEC Will Win Lawsuit Against XRP

2023 07/17

FoxBusinessNetwork (FBN) earlier today, senior reporter Charles Gasparino tweeted that Congressman Sherman believes that the SEC will easily get a legal lawsuit against Ripple for its unregistered sale of XRP. According to Gasparino, the congressman has been in touch with SEC Chairman Gary Gensler to expand the scope of the case.

Ask Mr. Sherman how he came to his conclusion - since neither party can release evidence to a third party (such as him) as directed by the court.

Did the SEC violate court norms by adding evidence to his case? Or, was he baseless for Gensler's suggestion?

In response to this interesting inspiration, Ripple`s attorney, Jeremy Hogan, tweeted a post asking Sherman how he got his results since neither party had followed the court`s direction to release evidence to a third party.

Hogan also poses a key question:

Did the SEC violate court norms by adding evidence to his case? Or, was he baseless for Gensler's suggestion?

Eleanor, Sherman's reporter Eleanor Terrett clarified her position shortly afterwards.

"When I asked Rep. Sherman why he thought so much about XRP when it was a security, he told me it was because of the SEC and went on to explain the reasons put forward in the position. XRP investors took advantage of @Ripple to raise prices across the board. Then he said he The evidence that is correct comes from cryptocurrency exchanges."

In an interesting turn of events, Congressman Sherman reprimanded Fox for his miscommunication and stated his position on the situation. "There's something wrong with FoxBusiness," he said. "I often talk to SEC Chairman Gary Gensler, sometimes discussing digital currency, but never discussing XRP. The only conversation I have with SEC officials on XRP is the testimony of Director Gurbir Grewal." Then the educator added a link to the testimony.

In 2020, the SEC sued RippleLabs for issuing and selling security XRP tokens to the public without permission. Since then, the SEC and Ripple have been embroiled in a legal battle.
