Todd Lenfield, director of Chainalysis Australia and New Zealand, told Blockworks in an interview that the regulatory framework will continue to change. He also said he didn't believe they saw anyone hesitate to do so, but at the same time, they didn't want to limit the field.
Policy makers generally believe that digital currencies require stricter laws, and they will soon need them, even if controls can avoid the disruption of the entire market. Renfield feels, however, that there is a silver lining hidden in the dark clouds.
Renfield said there has always been a feeling that as long as the market is down, there will be opportunities for growth. He went on to say that they are seeing cryptocurrency companies, such as traditional exchanges, looking to offer other types of services and add value to their customer base. This is similar to what any other type of business would do in the next cycle.
A key selling point of Chainalysis is that it can assist law enforcement in identifying and apprehending criminals by analyzing blockchain data and building maps of criminal addresses.
